About CLAT Exam 2023

CLAT Entrance exam 2023 is going to be held on 18 December 2022. It is a national-level exam held to provide admissions to Law courses offered by 22 National Law Universities in India. Many private universities also accept CLAT scores to admit students into Law courses. The full form of the CLAT is the Common Law Admission test. Candidates who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate law degree such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, BSc. LLB, LLM must appear in the CLAT Entrance exam to secure admission to a reputed Law School.

 

CLAT Exam Pattern 2023

  • CLAT Entrance exam is a pen-paper-based test held in the English language.

  • The duration of the exam is two hours. 

  • The CLAT Question paper will consist of 150 questions and Only Multiple-Choice Questions will be asked in CLAT 2023 entrance exam. 

  • Five subjects are included in the CLAT exam 2023 English Language, Logical Reasoning, GK & Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. 

  • A negative marking scheme will be followed during the evaluation of the marks, for each right answer candidate will be awarded 1 mark and for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2023- Key Highlights

 

  • The English Language section in CLAT 2023 Entrance exam will consist of 28-23 objective-type questions and each question will carry 1 mark.

  • The current Affairs Section will have 35-39 questions and the maximum marks of this section will be 35-39 marks.

  • In the Logical Reasoning section, there will be 28-32 questions. the weightage of this section will be 28 to 32 marks. 

  • The Legal Reasoning section will consist of 35 to 39 MCQs with each question carrying 1 mark. 

  • In the last section which is Quantitative Technique, each question will carry 13 to 17 questions. 

CLAT Exam Eligibility Criteria

 

All the aspirants who will fulfill the CLAT Exam Eligibility requirements will be able to fill the CLAT Application Form 2023. Below are the highlights of CLAT Eligibility Criteria :

 

Minimum Qualification:


(i) CLAT UG Eligibility: Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade in 10+2 or equivalent (40% for SC/ST candidates)

(ii) CLAT PG Eligibility: Minimum 50% or equivalent grade in LLB degree or equivalent examination. (45% for SC/ST candidates)


Nationality: Indian Nationals/NRIs/PIO/OCI are eligible 

Age Limit: No upper Age Limit 

No. of Attempts: No restrictions on attempt limit for CLAT 2023. Candidates can take CLAT exam as many times as they want. 


CLAT Application Form 2023

 

The Consortium of National Law University has announced that the CLAT 2023 Exam will be held on 18th December 2022. and the registrations will begin soon in the month of August. The Law aspirants will be able to fill out CLAT Application Form 2023 soon by visiting the official website of the Consortium of NLUs i.e www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in. For your kind information, CLAT 2022 Exam was held on 19 June 2022.

 

Please note that candidates have to pay a registration fee of Rs 4,000 after filling up the CLAT Application Form. However, applicants belonging to SC/ST/BPL Category will have to pay a CLAT Application Fee of Rs 3,500 only. 


CLAT Answer Key 2023

 

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) releases a CLAT Answer Key on their official portal a few days before declaring CLAT Result. For the CLAT 2022, the authorities have already released the Provisional CLAT Answer key 2022 on 20th June 2022 and the final answer key was released on 23rd June 2022. 

 

The authorities release the provisional answer key and allow the candidates to raise their grievances against the provisional answer key. The candidates have to submit their objections against the provisional answer key with valid documented proof. The authorities will consider your grievances if authorities find the objections raised and submitted by the candidates valid. A Final CLAT Answer Key 2023 will be released by the Consortium of National Law Universities after considering all the valid objections against the Provisional answer key.
